My obsession with nail polish began last year. I'd never thought much into it before that, in fact I'm not sure I'd owned more than 2 bottles of nail polish at any one time. And then just like that, I was buying nail polish every week.
As a result, I've been able to put together a decent collection but I'd like to have a whole lot more. Like a WHOLE lot more. Especially since nail polish is much cheaper here in Kenya than in South Africa.
This is what I'm working with so far though
I now have 31 but I hope to get to 100 by the end of the year.. Greedy much? NO! My nail polish is open to anyone who comes over so I consider this as me giving back to society. The term 'society' being limited to only those who walk into my home.
While we were in Mombasa over new years eve I managed to convince my dad to let me paint two of his nails.. bright pink. Ha! That could easily be the weirdest/funniest thing I'd seen all of last year.. He obviously took it off asap but it was nice to bring this manly man into the girly girl world.
What's your nail polish collection like? I'm so keen to know/see!

You are a collector, theres nothing wrong with that. I recently got into nail art, so Ive acquired a lot more shades than I had in years. Sally Hansen is a good affordable brand. Love their calypso blue I think its called. So jealous that you live in Africa! oh my! I would die to go there. Sounds beautiful.

ReplyDeleteNail polish can definitely get out of hand... I remember when I went through my varnish obsession phase. Good luck reaching 100! You can probably arrange a rainbow by then ;)

0n average, how long do you keep your nail polish on? I'm thinking with 100 you'd be changing it every two days or so?? I think I'll aim for like 20.. I currently have only 4.. #failing
ReplyDeleteI change it every 5-7 days. Never have it on for too long cos it starts chipping anyway.. 20 is a good start for sure :) Though didn't you have more than 4?? Pretty sure you did!

DeleteI have a nail polish obbession too, started while in college used to use my government money (yes here in Britain you get paid to study while in college) very naughty but it was an investment. It should be more than 100 but alas alot of the clotted and I had to throw away. I recently started a new collection and I'm already on 7 lool.
