Want to know what's in my bag?

A couple weeks ago Neema from The Bantu Girl tagged me in a What's in My Bag post.
I panicked.
Why? Well:
1) Neema's bag seemed like it was put together by a very organised and neat person. You should check out her what's in my bag post here.. You'll see what I mean.
2) I am neither organised nor neat. My bag is often full of receipts, wrappers, doubles ( I'll explain this later), cables and other random crap.. Half the time I'm not sure my hand knows what it's doing as it shoves more and more random stuff into my bag. It's cray.

So after two weeks of procrastinating, I cleaned out my bag, finally stopped panicking and put together this post.

Neema seems like such a lovely girl by the way! Make sure you check out her amazing blog.

The Bag:

I'm currently using this beautiful teal bag that I got from The Mall in Westlands for KES1,500 (less than $20). Let's have 1,500 cheers for good deals and great bags people!

Not only is it beautiful but it's also sturdy and the finishes are great. I think the teal and brown colours work gorgeously together and I also love that it's got gold hardware as I tend to wear a lot of gold-toned accessories.
I believe it's made out of pleather which may or may not be a good thing depending on whether you know your pleather.
I don't.

Contents:

Now you know how I mentioned that my bag usually contains doubles? I don't exactly know when it happened or why but I find myself putting more than one version of a particular item in my bag. Like these sunglasses. And the lip balms. And pens. Wipes. Tissues. Hand sanitizers. Notebooks.. Perhaps it's the thought of running out or losing one and knowing that I'm covered because I have the other that gives me comfort.

Top Sunglasses - Aldo
Bottom Sunglasses - Random Street Vendor

Wallet - Nine West

Eraser.
I wish I could give you a good reason as to why I have an eraser in my bag but I've got nothing for ya. I just happened to be in a stationery shop (I love stationery by the way) and picked up a few pens and an eraser which now lives in my bag. Who knows, there might come a day where this eraser saves the world. Or something like that.

Body Shop Lip Balm in Passion
Smith's Lip Balm in Strawberry

Earphones

Hair brush.
I've had this for years now and I absolutely love it. Got it from Lipstick at Sarit.

Fifty Shades of Grey
{I always have a book in my bag. I'm pretty much done with this one and I'm contemplating getting the sequel.}
A notebook.

Tissues

Wet wipes

Beauty Factory Ginkgo Biloba Hand and Nail Cream
Oh So Heavenly Hand Sanitiser
Bath and Body Works Hand Sanitiser
Clarins Perfume

Make Up Bag
Tampons/Pads Bag

Phone

Notebook
License
Card Holder
I was talking to a friend and needed her to write something down for me so I quickly reached into my bag, pulled out an old reciept which I hurriedly un-crumpled and passed it to her. She didn't hesitate to point out that Savanis was just round the corner and that they sold nice notebooks. I bought that thing quick fast.

Purple, Black and Pink pens.

~ The End ~

If you only had to pick three items to have in your handbag, what would they be??

  1. Three items: lip balm, wallet, phone. But then you would probably need a camera, panadol, sunnies, notebook... the list goes on!

    1. I used to have a friend who'd carry her charger everywhere and thought that was so bizarre until I got an Ideos phone. Then I got it.

Water is a great addition btw!

  4. Loved the post though I am curious, What is in your makeup bag??
I have been meaning to do a handbag post, my bag is so full, I want to know if the stuff I carry around is normal.
2 pairs of sunnies? What if one gets broken in you bag? or God forbid, you loose your bag? That is the only reason I wouldnt risk carrying to pairs.
I am currently reading Fifty Shades Darker, and it is tres awesome :)

    1. Oh goodness, don't get me started on my make up bag. I carry so much make up in there and yet the most I'll use is lip gloss. It's actually sad.
Defo do the what's in my bag post! You might help us see what we're missing out on.

There are so many ladies reading the trilogy - makes me wonder why I took so long!

Let me know if you put up the post

    2. I cant help but wonder how many shades of lipsticks you have in there :)
I will find sometime to do it soon.
I think it is because many guys have heard about fifty shades of grey but do not really know what it is, I have been making my friends join the movement :)

  5. Lol, your funny.

My bag is also a mess- full of receipts and junk. Once I ran out of airtime, poured every thing out of my bag and voila found a pesa point airtime receipt which was 2 weeks old. Even when I know I am broke ,I always know there some random notes somewhere in the webs of my bag- I'm just lazy when it comes to removing and returning wallets, aaargh feel like 5 seconds of my life is wasted, lol I got issues. By the way from the outside you can't tell the mess inside my bag. There 2 types of women in this world -a shoe or bags lady. I am the latter. My most expensive bag is 10k Kshs converted and I am willing to go up, lol.

Anyhooo 3 items I can't leave without - lipstick/tint or any stain, umbrella and 20 bob coins- Have you ever been stranded cause of lack of coins to take a mat? happpened to me once when I forgot my wallet at home, never again :)

    1. Wow. Do you realise you managed to justify having random stuff in your bag?? You rock.

Can only imagine how extensive your bag collection is! An umbrella is a smart thing to have considering how sporadic the weather has been lately.

I'd love to see your bag collection!

  6. Water!!! Y u no carry water!!!
And doesn't it stress you to no end that you might throw something on top of your sunnies which'll result in shards of broken lens, bloody fingers and tears? I did, until I went and got myself a specs case... Now I can sleep easy at night
    I see Juicy Fruit!

    1. I used to have a water bottle but lost it! Plus I'm not much of a water person, which isn't something I'm proud to admit.

Uhh bloody fingers?? Did that actually happen?? I'm sold! I'm officially on the hunt for a couple of good solid cases..

Juicy fruit!! I forgot to add gum!

    1. I'm now on Fifty Shades Freed and so far so good! Yeah they're making the movie which I can't wait to watch!

So many people think Bomer should play Christian (myself included) but not sure if they'll go with him. Who do you think should play Ana??? My friend and I were actually debating about this during the weekend!

  15. I was wondering why you had that eraser in there lol omg I want your lip balms!!! Yeah I'm kinda obsessed with lip balms or lip anything...except lip stick (unless it's on other people), don't think it looks good with my skin complexion, except Ruby Woo (which I also saw on one of your blogs, whoop whoop!), which I tried and actually loved so much thanks to Aisha & Shalom, hehe!

    Xoxo
