Grassy Knoll, Jackiwa, Olamide KE

These pictures were taken while I was out for lunch with the family at Grassy Knoll in Karen. Been there before? How did you like their food?

This is how I know she and I were meant to be sisters.

Jackiwa is a lady who thinks of herself as a singer but I believe is more of an entertainer. Jackiwa knows no shame. She booty pops like no other and has an insane love for Proboxes that is beyond most Kenyans' comprehension. Her lyrics are always epic and her confidence shocking. There is no one like Jackiwa. Jackiwa is a legend. 

I got this necklace from Hellen who runs Olamide KE, a retail store that's based on Facebook. Every so often she brings in new stock which always sells out pretty fast! I had originally ordered (and paid for) a different necklace but upon seeing it, it didn't sit well with me anymore. Plus the necklace itself wasn't too sturdy. This new baby, however, had me at hello. The necklace can either be worn on this or the reverse side but I especially love this side because of the snakeskin print. I got this necklace for KES 550 (about $7). 

The necklace reminds me a little of Karla Deras' collection for Roman Luxe. Karla is the amazing blogger behind Karla's Closet which is a fashion blog that I find so inspiring. She recently came up with her own line of jewellery which you can see in this picture. I think the gold touches bring in some classic elegance and the geometric shapes coupled with the snakeskin print bring an unexpected edginess to the pieces.
