On Saturday my mum and I had the pleasure of attending a lovely event at the Crowne Plaza Hotel. It was held by the World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF) Foundation and was in honour of 31 women who had just finished an intensive five day workshop on Internet marketing. It was lovely seeing these women, some of whom were as old as 60, proudly showcase the websites they'd successfully designed during this short period of time. There's something so empowering about being in a room full of smart, confident and eloquent women who want to see their business through to the next level. It's never easy taking on a challenge as daunting as putting together a website, especially when you've got no prior experience to it, so I was truly in awe of their hard work. I wish all the participants of the workshop the best in their endeavours!
For the occasion I thought it was best to be a little conservative with my outfit. I had originally wanted to wear another dress but the neckline was a little too low for my liking. So out came this little number which I had last worn for my birthday in March earlier this year.
Dress - second hand shop near Karen Crossroads; Tights - Woolworths; Stilettos - Ngara; Belt - can't remember; Studs - Mr. Price; Black Coat - Meltz.
I could use a chair like this in my life.
A little feet action. How cute are my mum's red pumps?
Clark Kent's lookalike asked me to hold this mic so he could take a picture. Weird. But who says no to Superman?
Me, Azuwa (an old family friend who invited us for this event) and my mama.
Ok. Now for the killer story.
But first I have to start by acknowledging that he doesn't quite look like Clark Kent in this picture.. But he did in another picture which he took on his camera. Inconvenient much? Not to mention how irrelevant he makes my post title by not really looking like Clark Kent in this picture. Oh and the Superman character I'm talking about is from the old series and not the recent movie, remember it? I think the actor went on to host Ripley's Believe it or Not.
Anyway
So Clark over here is from Malaysia and he was part of the media crew covering the event.. After dinner, my mum and I stepped out of the hall to take outfit pictures and he kept glancing our way. He finally came over and asked if I was a model and I replied by saying no and quickly explained about my blog. I'm not sure if he didn't hear me right or just didn't quite understand what I said because soon after he asked if I could take a picture with him on his camera which, I must repeat, is where he looked so much like Mr. Kent. It pains my heart to think I came this close to Superman's double only to not have the picture prove it.
Bummer.
What do you think - does he sort of have those features?
Mum and Jeff don't buy it, they think I've lost my marbles.
Ess this guy does not come close to clark. Lets start with his built..mmmm, no comment, unless u saw a superman costume under his shirt, gal u losing ur marbles :P
ReplyDeleteAnyway the dress is very cute. Hmmm I think Malaysian Superman was taken by u or has a crush, cause you look young and elegant. Good combo. cheers
Hehe.. I see we have a non believer in the house! I will have you know that 2 people agreed and said he actually looked a little like Dean Cain (the guy who played Clark Kent in the series).
