Art & Beer Festival!

For those  people who prefer pictures to words, this post is for you.

Even with over 30 pictures to show for it, I don't think I quite covered the Art and Beer Festival. Not sure whether the turn out is what the organisers hoped for but I quite liked it. It run from Saturday to Sunday with season tickets going for Shs1,500 (about $18).

I totts fell in love with this one guy btw. He sang to me you see. Well, he sang to the crowd but really I know he was singing to me. He doesn't know it yet but he and I are going to have babies together and he's going to sing for me all my life. It's gonna be beautiful. Oh yes.

Enough of my ramblings, here is mine and Binti's take on the Art and Beer Festival!

Hope you had an amazing weekend!!

On My Lips: Loreal Colour Riche in Shiny Grapefruit

I'm not really into make up and that's mostly because of the fact that I have to take it off at the end of the day. I'm a lazy make up remover-er. Remover-ee?  Removeree. Someone needs to tell Oxford Dictionaries that we've got a new word in town.

Re.mo.ve.ree:
Say: /ree-moo-vah-ree/
Definition: One who removes. Often requires a level of dedication. "She takes off her make up like no other removeree" "Did you call the removeree to help with that stain on your shirt?"

If I told you the number of times I've slept with my make up on you'd probably lose all confidence in my beauty regime. My point is make up is a lot of work sometimes. But lipsticks are pretty darn cool. I bought this lippy a couple weeks back and I totts {my new word for totally} love its subtlety. And how you don't need to be a removeree to get it off. Hip Hip...

How was your weekend? If you follow me on twitter then you probably already know that I was at the Art and Beer Fest what with all the pictures and random tweets I bombarded you with. Post will be up soon!
Exciting stuff.

20,000 reasons for me to be grateful

A couple days ago This Is Ess hit the 20,000 mark. And I was beyond ecstatic.

I started this blog earlier this year as a means to keep myself busy. I had just come from the most heart-wrenching break up ever and needed a distraction that didn’t contain any sort of reminder of my past. So I started typing, uploading pictures and revealing myself to you. About 7 months later and here we are, you and I. 20,000 hits and counting. Thank you for reading!

I’ve made some pretty cool friends here, most of whom I haven’t met but are nonetheless friends. At least in my books! Thank you!

What’s funny is how something that started out as uncertain and unclear as my blog did has now become a point of such clarity in my life. I absolutely love blogging and Bloggerville just generally kicks ass. Like if this was ass – (.) – Bloggerville would just kick it. That’s really all I’m trying to say here. Thank you for making me feel welcomed!

As you read this, I need you to know how grateful I am to you for choosing to spend your time on this space on the internet. A space that you are now indefinitely a part of. So thank you for stopping by, commenting on a post, sharing my blog to your friends, your sweet emails, working with me and for your time.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Cheers to another 20,000 hits.

A Whole Lotta Movement

Skirt - Market in Mombasa; Sweater - Meltz; Scarf, Ring & Belt - Mother's; Cuff - Hilton Arcade; Charm Bracelet - Gift; Tights - Woolworths; Shoes - Edgars; Nail polish - Luron #112

Something about this skirt necessitates movement.
No really, you can't help but twirl and act like a little princess while you're in it. And on that princess-y note, my friend so genuinely pointed out how my shoes remind her of Smurfette's. You know, the only girl from The Smurfs? Interesting observation I say. You see, you may think that I get my outfit inspiration from these high fashion magazines and websites but I will have you know that I do no such thing, no siree. I go straight to animations, cartoons, Disney.. that kinda stuff. Yezzurr.

In case some of you took that seriously, that was a joke. And in case some of you were like "oh my gosh, I totally do that too!!!" well.. then.. you do you booboo.

Live

Hey friendling, how are you today? Swell, I hope.
Just wanted to share my outfit with you from Sunday. Went to church with a friend and thought I'd take girly-girl up a notch.
Church was awesome by the way, it turned out to be exactly what my soul needed.

Skirt - Mr. Price; Top - TwentyOne; Sweater - Adams; Kate Spade Pumps - Vendor at Karen Crossroads (near Nakumatt); Bag - Vendor at The Mall; Necklace - Mother's but from Maasai Market; Bracelet - Kariorkor Market.

A friend called in the middle of my little photo session and if I had to guess what I was saying here, it would probably along the lines of "No, no, no Mondy. You're not going to ditch my plans like that. Never. And yes, you're going to enjoy our little chill session this evening. Mhmm. Damn straight."
And that, dear friend, is how you stop a friend from cancelling on you.

This photo is weird for one reason and one reason only. There were only two people out here on the balcony - myself and my friend who was behind the camera. So who the heck was I looking at and talking to here???
Weird.

Now you see it all round and puffy.                     Now you see it flat as a pancake.
All this entertainment for the price of Shs50.
Priceless really!

Photos courtesy of my friend, Kaloki.

Thank you so much for stopping by! I'm not sure where you are right now in the world but I hope you're having a lovely day :)
Love and peace.

Pucker up

My dad said that when a boy says 'pucker up', this is what he means.
But for some reason, I can never get a boy to say it again.
